We are proud and excited to announce the forming of a new division of CDS Records LLC. This label, Special Soul Music,  will produce Soul Music with all real instrumentation and with a focus on the classic Soul sound of the 60s & 70s, which many consider the greatest years of Soul Music.

On February 7 2012 Special Soul Music will release it's first two projects. The first album in nearly 30 years from the legendary Garland Green entitled "I Should've Been The One". This all new album will contain a brand new version of Green's Top 5 smash "Jealous Kind Of Fella" and other new tracks perfectly suited for his classic voice. Speaking of classic voices, on the same day we will release an all new project by Vel Omarr called "The Greatest Song I Ever Sang". This 12-song set features all original songs with the great Sam Cooke in mind. Once you hear Vel Omarr's amazing voice you will understand why.

As many have by now heard CDS Records' owner recently suffered some serious health problems. He is in recovery and will be back in action soon. LET IT BE KNOWN, however, that CDS Records and it's affiliated labels are and will continue to be doing business as usual. Vice President Carl Marshall is in charge and other employees of the label are helping take care of business.

We do want to send out a VERY sincere thank you to all the artists and industry personnel who have showed concern for Mr. DeAnna's condition. May God bless you.

In other news Carl Marshall has an amazing new album out entitled "Songs People Love The Most, Volume 2" with new songs and new and improved versions of some of Carl's best including the new hit "21st Century Grown Folks Party" with Garland Green, Mel Waiters, Jerry L, Patrick Green & more. In addition a brand new compilation entitled "CDS Records Southern Soul Smashes 2" with new songs by Luther Lackey, Gregg A. Smith  & Johnnie Taylor Jr plus hits by Floyd Taylor, Nellie Tiger Travis, Charles Wilson, Stephanie Pickett, TJ Hooker-Taylor and more (it features songs by all three of Johnnie Taylor sons!). And if that wasn't enough we'll also throw in..ha ha. Aviara Music, which is the label home of hit artists Stephanie Pickett & Sir Jonathan Burton, is proud to release two albums that reflect today's Southern Soul to a tee. Bobby Conerly, who's written smash hits for artists like Mel Waiters and Marvin Sease, has released "Take What's Left Of Me", of which the title track is already a hit across Europe. Underrated and longtime Southern Soul veteran Jim Bennett has offered up the single best album of his career, aptly called "Taking It To The Next Level"

SISTERS OF VISION performed on the Bobby Jones Gospel show on April 12th. Unfortunately we weren't notified ahead of time by the show about the airing. They stirred souls on the set with "Shuffle For Christ" & "A Mother's Prayer". We are working on obtaining video footage to share.

Carl Marshall has been named Vice President of CDS Records and is in the process of developing CDS Gospel, a Gospel division of CDS Records.

"There's no discrimination in music", said Marshall. "We just need to know the reason for each category of music. Secular music is for party enjoyment. Gospel music is for life-changing and healing."
